How Arsenal vs. Newcastle lit up the top scorers chart

Even Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over Newcastle was less than pretty.

The one-sided game wasn’t much different from the 4-1 win Arsenal enjoyed against Newcastle earlier this month. In that match, Hector Bellerin opened the scoring for the Gunners with a deflected strike from distance. There was no similar result Sunday at St. James’ Park.

Still, the result kept Arsene Wenger’s side a point behind league leaders Chelsea, and ensured Arsenal will be leaving New Year’s Day with a win at home in the Premier League for only the second time this season.

Here’s how we scored Arsenal:

Bukayo Saka 1.4

Wes Morgan 1.3

Fabian Schar 1.0

Eric Christensen 1.0

Mamadou Sakho 1.0

Cheick Tiote 1.0

Fabian Schar 1.0

Hector Bellerin 1.0

Ayoze Perez 1.0

Shkodran Mustafi 1.0

Alex Iwobi 1.0

Matteo Guendouzi 1.0

Fernando Llorente 1.0

Rob Holding 1.0

Mikel Arteta’s first win in the Emirates dugout as an Arsenal coach looked pretty easy.
