Whatever else you think of his musical output, the Japanese Nintendo icon was a mad man. A big one, we’re sure. There have been a lot of rumours concerning Nintendo’s long-gestating streaming video service, but today, we’ve got a few concrete details to go along with even more tantalizing rumors. Heading our way tomorrow, fans of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be treated to a bit of a surprise in the form of a two-year anniversary celebration. There will be a 4K UHD and HD trailer streaming and a bunch of augmented reality feature unlockables. Nintendo has also said that there will be new Mario Kart DLC, not only for the game, but also for upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch.

For those living under the all-important space-time veil, it’s National Television Day. MASS TRANSIT CRASH IN NEW YORK

At least eight people were injured when a person ran into a subway station in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, starting a massive evacuation. CNN reports that at least one person had to be treated for serious injuries, and at least one passenger had to be cut off. The man who did it reportedly did not have a weapon and was hit by the train. The station, which runs parallel to the JMZ line, is about a half mile from Brooklyn’s Coney Island, where safety concerns also recently prompted evacuations.
